Making a Balance within the month of July

Loss:
This month I have endured lots of loss.  But without loss there is no gain and I have definitely have had a balance between the two.

Someone special in my life loss his father which has brought up many feelings & memories in my mind of that space we fill , the distance we bring, the growth we endure, the excuses we make and to the leaning on one another  that you handle from such an experience in life.
My Mommy & Me

The loss of a parent can forever change you.  It's an unexplained 7 year growth. I loss my mom 21 years ago and  it continues to be apart of my daily life.
With this in mind it has made me think of

a time short after my mom died. I was at my friend Veronica's house just hanging out and we realized something was missing. We looked about the room and Veronica said, "the phone would've been ringing by now", that meaning my mom would be calling. Yes even at 22 years old she would've called to remind me I should be heading home soon since I had a class in the morning. At that moment I realized (song & dance moment) I don't have to report to anyone and not even have to go home...but that day I absorbed that moment and realized it was just a beginning of structure in my life. From that moment on I realized that core of one of the greatest women ever who is apart of me and makes me be so giving to this day and continue to know the reasons to be responsible even when you don't want too. If I didn't have that core and up bringing who knows what today would've been...I love my mommy!

Bobbie Nudie
Also a Happy Birthday to my grandma Bobbie ( July 29th) in Hillbilly Heaven

Losing it: I have been taking care of me

Like most creative, giving people I forget to take care of me  well I'm glad to report that my AC-1 is lower and my blood sugars are low not needing much or any insulin before meals. I have been taking in a high protein less carb diet and losing inches ~ whoo hoo!

Speaking of Diabeties: I also was a guest on Diva Diabetic Radio as a DIVA Diabetic!  It was a blast Thanks again Max!

About to plan a Rhinestone Cure Ball and need a committee so please stay in touch!

Gain:
* TV treatment  was excepted!

* celebrity interviews in the making

* spending lots of time with great friends in my life : out & new
Mo,Milagro & Laura
Kayt, Mo & Daisy

Final thoughts:
There is a risk we take when we open our arms ... don't ever be afraid to give apart of you to another and continue to give also to yourself when needed.

Remember there's nothing LESS about me ...it's MORE afterall it's the first 4 letters in my name ~lol!

Speaking of more...I need you!

The Rhinestone Remembrant turns 78 shh don't tell!

Dear Friends,

Many of you locals probably will receive a postcard in the mail in addition to this email within the next week, but we wanted to reach out and make sure all of Manuel's friends from all over and since way back when received this invitation. As you probably know by now--from the "For Sale" sign in front of our beloved building and the slew of deals we've thrown your way via Facebook--it's been a hard couple years here at Manuel's. But yet another birthday is fast-approaching (the big 78 this year!), and we've planned a special little something for everyone.

For the past 20-odd years, Manuel has hosted an annual bash--the Goliath of birthday throw-downs--at his home known infamously as the Mountain. We want to celebrate another year of Manuel and find a way to thank you, his family and friends, for your love and loyalty. In light of our hardships, however, we're switching things up a bit, and we think you all will be happy to participate.

On Saturday, April 16th, from noon til 6PM, we are having a birthday celebration with booze, tunes and rhinestones in our Midtown showroom in hopes of reviving the business. The $20 entrance fee gets you inside the event and an all-you-can-drink wristband. Bands will play from 12-6; Dos Equis and VnC Cocktails provide libations; authentic Mexican tacos will be for sale on our patio; and upon entrance, all guests receive a raffle ticket for the chance to win a one-of-a-kind Manuel jacket. To up your chances of winning the prize, buy additional raffle tickets for $5.

Please come to celebrate Manuel's birthday and to give this iconic brand and legendary man the comeback they deserve.

Salud!

It's time to MARCH to the beat!

Spring is almost amongst us! Time for all the great events to come and fashions that follow...

Speaking of FASHION: Dress the part!

If you haven't seen it yet then turn on the TV tube for American Idol. Nashville contestant Paul Mc Donald is sporting the rhinestones! That's right bring back the inspiration of NUDIE suits in a modern edge by Manuel's son today designed by Manny.

Manny, my brother whom I teased with pleasure for wearing upholstery as pants all the time I gave him the name Wear it Out as a joke. Since he has always used funky materials to make as his pants and wearing them out like crazy. Now he calls his designs : Wear it Out Manuel located at 1001Dickerson Pike Nashville,TN 37207 and designing full stream which can be seen on one of the most popular shows American Idol.

There is truth in looking the part so continue to vote for Paul Mc Donald and see more of WEAR IT OUT Manuel

HMM...I always say keep them guessing?

You know I can't leave you hanging? But yours truly has been working it. And I can't wait to brand a very special item in the works but only time will tell!~hint: It's Kosher Baby!

As for now my Hosting talents are being honored and about to work on a TV show in the making ~ very exciting stuff  on board .  I have also been working on the reality show and have interest with a Candian producer so don't be surprised that my crazy family life will be on tape soon! Get ready for your Cameo! LOL!

The Ups & Downs of living the life as a Diabetic

Ups,downs & spinning all around feeling almost like a Depeche Mode record. But seriously making a journal of day to day . My life is like a a wild ride on a roller coaster but love every moment. The key thing is movement. I have been on the move and doing Zumba.  Zumba is a great exercise and helping me make the right decisions towards my health and a fun activity to share with friends. We are laughing and burning calories at the same time! whoo hoo!

3 things to make you live longer:

#1 I have a true love for writing especially letters. The USPS loves me as well as those on the receiving end.  So send someone a friendly note

#2 stay on the move ~ Movement is good for our health

#3 No texting & driving ~I know that's one in training but with all the great things ahead why would you cut your life short?

Paper work pilling up: Well the paper work is on my desk...and a special annoucement  is soon to be made to Davidson County

Thoughts on Valentine's Day:

Mushy Cards, Yummy Candy, Loving thoughts, Jewerly & Roses

"My Lips are Ruby Red
And I dream of Oceans so Blue
But without a Doubt my Love is True!"

Now here's a little History of Sant Valentine's Day:

Valentine's Day started in the time of the Roman Empire. In ancient Rome, February 14th was a holiday to honour Juno. Juno was the Queen of the Roman Gods and Goddesses. The Romans also knew her as the Goddess of women and marriage. The following day, February 15th, began the Feast of Lupercalia.

The lives of young boys and girls were strictly separate. However, one of the customs of the young people was name drawing. On the eve of the festival of Lupercalia the names of Roman girls were written on slips of paper and placed into jars. Each young man would draw a girl's name from the jar and would then be partners for the duration of the festival with the girl whom he chose. Sometimes the pairing of the children lasted an entire year, and often, they would fall in love and would later marry.

Now if it could be this easy?

More adventures to come

Love & Laughter,

Morelia
