Dating over 40?

Something I wanted to share with my friends....

Recently I have been watching a few segments on women dating over 40 as a "second round". I personally find this to be ridiculous!

Speaking for myself...it was quite one sided. Dating over 40 isn't the end of the world or a 2nd round per say thing. There are many lovely women out there such as myself that are on their 1st round of dating and never been  married. I generally don't consider myself or do others consider me in that age group much since I carry my age well. I have had made many choices and been raised somewhat as a late bloomer and I am still SINGLE

I rather be single then date someone and still be alone. I have done this and don't get me wrong it isn't healthy. I want to be married and I want the wedding and all what's about. Coming from a divorced family I feel & wish to do this married thing once but need a  real boyfriend first?  Though been told to go with the times...I'm not much into the on line dating and what it is about but I do understand the reasons for it to be able to meet those you may not find else where, but what happened to the instant connection?

We all say we want this image we all have created for ourselves but when it comes down to it anything can happen. For example I can be placed in a room full of models with this perfect guy and steal that guy that wouldn't normally find my image as what he was thinking of first. I truly believe its a connection / a electricity that is unknown to make those things happen.

I'm about to turn 42 years old and I'm single and enjoying life and out there popular doing things I love. I am a professional and look great. I'm not the typical size 2-4 gal you have on the Bachelor looking for love. I'm actually a size 12 at 5'7" and well put together and just because I'm over a size 6 I dont have to be portrayed to date a large guy as shown on TV looking for more to love?

I personally have dated the artsy, smart, good fit guy similar to an attractive man shown on the Bachelor TV show type guy, yet I'm not the typical stereotype gal selected for the show or if one line you pre type what you are looking for in a profile on line? I'm exotic looking and keep it together for being over 40 and I'm taking the steps each day to prepare myself for the love of my life where ever he may be or have been fortune to known but wasn't ready yet. It takes time to love yourself and find that equal medium between your physical & emotional.

In meeting this match I believe we shared a foot step or two but just haven't had the moment to meet one another face to face!  So I personally don't feel I need to be reminded it's more difficult to meet a man at this age and I need to be more creative to do so beyond I have naturally. It's not the end of the world dating over 40 for some it's just the beginning of making the mold!

A day and a life as a Rhinestone Honky Tonk Heiress

Just trying to recoup from the last few weeks of festivities...

Starting off with the surprise reviling of the Manuel caricature at the Palm. Thanks with the help of general manger Paige Dixon (we dressed her son: Drake at the CMA’s) and all my girls: “The Outlaws” we got my daddy lured to the Palm for a all star cast of friends & clients for the veiling of him as mini Manuel in the bar where he generally sips his tequila none other then the golden juice of Jose Cuervo gold!

In the mitts of things we got my niece Sofia hanging out between an interview of her “TA TA” Manuel & Kid Rock. She is already living the "Cuevas Way” LOL!

We ended the night over more cocktails @ John Rich's club for a little R& R meaning more cocktails ... not too much sleep taken in to CMA night.

Besides working that CMA day and getting those their last minute outfits my father Manuel attented the show and continue the night where we met him out for the after parties.

I have been hitting the private clubs & parties all night and meeting more exciting fresh faces in the industry. The best conversation that evening/morning was with Bobby Ritchie aka KID ROCK, when he spoke about: I think that the internet shall be absolutist…I feel with him at times…I love the old fashion ways of letter writing and picking up the phone. OLD School rules!

Well the rhinestones are still shining…we ended our week with Sparkle & Twang that supports the TN State Museum.

With everything going on between dressing up the stars and creating new items for the holiday season. We got a little cocktail event on Tuesday (Nov.24th) night. We have join forces to a community “shopping night out” Manuel doors open late night 7-10pm live music, new fashions, new priced items for the holidays with a tequila bar and mas tacos truck outside hope to see you there!
It’s time to shop shop shop!

My week never really ended went to The Standard and had dinner with the authors Peter O Abele’s & Tom Hicks. The book: Otto the boy at the Window. The book is soon going to be a movie and soon filmed in Nashville. Still looking for investors contact: Lynda Evjen (615) 517-5714

Exciting news: I’m in the film!

I have been sparkling the rhinestones all week and smoking cigars. Next in the picture is getting ready to host another Rhinestone Cure event into the New Year a gentleman’s party themed: “whiskey, cigars & wild women “donating to diabetes.  The telethon airs later next summer.

I also have been asked to join in with the Prevent Blindness Foundation as a speaker at their big gala in March.  This will be a great venue to spread the word on Rhinestone Cure.

Be on the look out for my yearly report  ….In till then Shine Sparkle, Survive

Life as a Rhinestone DIva

Since the early years I was born in this Rhinestone Empire and knew only to sparkle!

They say laughter is the best medicine, and if that is the case then Morelia will never have a sick day in her life. Voiceover artist, entertainer, broadcast professional and creative assistant to an exclusive clothier this woman was born with a pedigree guaranteeing a life front and center.

Raised in Los Angeles, Morelia is the granddaughter of the legendry tailor Nudie and daughter of Manuel clothing designer to the stars. She grew up in a creative environment surrounded by artists and entertainers. “Nudie’s store was in North Hollywood and my earliest memories are of all these icons coming into shop,” says Morelia. “I remember people like John Wayne, Tex Williams, and Ben Johnson. They were like uncles to me. I sat entranced listening to the stories of The Colonel Tom Park, Elvis and The Lone Ranger. After that when my dad became more front and center and the music changed the rockers like Bob Dylan and Keith Richards started coming in.

“Sometimes it was more like a variety show than a store. I became part of the act as a very young child. My grandfather would play the mandolin for his clients and sing a slightly bawdy rendition of four leaf clover, I would act it out. That’s when I think the performing seed was planted. I know I got my flair for the dramatic from my dad. He used to hand make pants for me. I was the only kid in school that had color jeans for different days of the week,” I had M’s, flowers, and even flames down on one leg. “It was wild!”

Home life was a training ground as well. “As a kid I would have my tape recorder and microphone” says Morelia. “When I was seven years old I always used to walk around and interview people. My mother would get worried if it was too quiet. She thought something had happened to me because I would entertain myself making up different voices for the dolls. That’s when I first realized I had a talent for voice over work.”

Knowing the career path she wanted to take, Morelia attended the Television, Theatre, and Fine Arts Magnate High School in Los Angeles honing her broadcast and performance skills. In college at Cal State Northridge she studied Broadcasting and English and took a job at Universal Studios of Hollywood in the entertainment department. There Morelia utilized her talents in many different departments including production, show announcement and talent; even dressing up as Mae West.

Morelia came to Nashville in the early nineties to work with her father Manuel at his successful couture shop. She helps to market and image the show while assisting with national PR and producing fashion shows. One feather in her couture cap was being the main point person for the prestigious Frist Exhibit on her father. During all this Morelia has continued to pursue her own professional career in the limelight by forming Kosher Taco Productions. The name is a testament to Morella’s sense of humor and heritage having a Jewish mother and a Mexican father.

Through her production company Morelia has been a sidekick on several Nashville radio stations, done commercials, videos, TV, and radio voice over work. She has developed several characters and is pursing various creative ventures from her Laugh with Morelia to her own salsa.

Though it all Morelia has given countless hours to charity as well created her own non-profit Rhinestone Cure for Diabetes ( www.rhinestonecure.org) and will always step up to the plate to lend a hand and of course a smile and a laugh. She is a unique lady with splendid style and grace.

memory : age 5
a new way to look at a pickle
I can look back as far as the days my grandpa Nudie gave me my first diva weapon: my pickle lunch box. I use to poke everyone with my pickle lunch box and to think now I'm super poking those on Facebook.
